The extremely warm weather has really jump started things off. The earliest I’ve seen such large amounts of pogies and mullet in the backwaters. Actually saw the water hit 70` in a few places.

The Reds are schooled up and on the move. Large schools of mixed sized fish in all the expected transition areas. Especially around the inlets. The bite is still a little tentative at times with smaller plastics and 3″ Gulp! triggering the strike but they are starting to jump on the gold spoons better and better and even topwaters are getting some action.

The Riley Rods Redfish Shootout Series Spring event out of Surf City scheduled for March 26th has been rescheduled for April 2nd.
